the day after the party

The day after the party was a wonderfully lazy family day at home -- complete with cupcakes for breakfast, present opening, playing and lots of lego building.

and then there was the party...

there was the bouncer with slide that the children did not come out of for about three hours straight...

there were insane amounts of delicious food prepared by Mama Hilda, myself and Tio Victor...

there was backyard fun with friends and cousins...

and, of course, cupcakes...

and then hours more of pirate play with cousins as the party continued into the evening...

finally, it was the pirate chefs that closed the party down...

jack's birthday

On August 1st this little tiger turned five.  He got some new face paints and his own art book like mama's, for which he had been asking.  We had a low-key family day... jack's choice--which included games at the arcade, his first game of miniature golf and his favorite mac'n'cheese with a surprise hot fudge sundae...
